The Command Bar
Use the command bar to have FileBoss display a specific folder entered either manually
or by pasting from the clipboard. Press F8 and the following
dialog will appear.

Typing or Pasting a Path to Go to
The command bar is used for much more than just going
to specific folders. For all the details see
The Command Bar.
Enter the full path of the folder. If you are pasting the path to a
file from the clipboard there is no need to remove the filename as
FileBoss will automatically display the folder that contains it.
But
if the path you past is enclosed in quotation marks, remove the
after pasting the text into the box.
You can also use Meta Folders in this dialog just as in
any of the Find dialogs, e.g. the following three
entries would produce the same result:
<my
documents>\Fileboss Data
<md>\FileBoss
Data
C:\Documents and
Settings\FileBoss\FileBoss Data
Type a Path to a Folder
Type in the path to a folder, drive or network
storage area
Paste a path from the clipboard
Paste the path to a folder, drive or
network storage area from the clipboard, e.g. "C:\Documents and
Settings\FileBoss\My Documents\Letters & Labels"
This is handy when navigating to a folder with a path supplied by
another application.
Enter a Meta Folder
Meta Folders are short names for special
folders used by Windows, e.g. the My Documents meta folder
represents the actual path to the folder Windows uses to store you
documents, typically something like:
"C:\Documents and Settings\FileBoss\My Documents".
Meta folders are enclosed in angle brackets
and can be used like a normal path, e.g. <My Documents>\Letters.
Enter a bookmark
Enter any bookmark to go directly to that
folder. Bookmarks must be enclosed in angle brackets, e.g. <Pictures
of Mom>.
Bookmarks are also treated as Meta Folders by FileBoss so you can
insert a bookmark name in the angle brackets to specify the full
path of the bookmark.
Meta Folder Names
The following is a sample list of Meta Folders that FileBoss
recognizes along with their short abbreviations.
To
use a meta folder simply enclose its name or abbreviation between
angle brackets, e.g. <Windows> or <W>.
You can also add on to Meta Folders such as
<Windows>\system32
will display the system32 folder under your Windows
folder.
