Update May 2017

A May 2017 Microsft security update for Windows 10 conflicted with a major routine in FileBoss resulting in FileBoss not starting on some Windows 10 systems.

Versions V3.101 and later, fix the problem. You can read more about this at the page
Windows Creators Conflict.

Locating Files in a Folder

To locate files use either the show or find command in the main command bar

Locating Files in a Tab

Display or go to the Command Bar
Press F8 to display the Command Bar. Press F8 again at any time to return to the Command Bar where you can start typing, pasting or selecting a previous command (F8 then F4) immediately)

Show a group of files (filter)
Filters the files that are displayed. Putting a minus sign (-) before a pattern tells FileBoss to exclude files that match that pattern.
Show -*.bak ; -*.tmp ; -*.obj ; -~*

Go to a specific file (or one of a group)
Move to and displays the file that matches the pattern(s)
Pressing F3 afterward will move to the next matching file
Find OurVacation.doc
Find *marog*.jpg ; *marog*.psd
(Use Ctrl+F to show the command bar and enter Find command)

Separating filenames and patterns
Filenames and patterns can be separated with semi-colons, commas, or the bar character ( ; , |). Leading and trailing white space is removed. A minus sign ( - ) before a pattern or filename means not or exclude.

More uses for the Command Bar
Naturally the command bar has many more uses than finding files in a Tab. For other great command bar uses see The FileBoss Command Bar

Hint: To quickly go to files beginning with a specific character simply press that character on your keyboard. Repeatedly pressing the same character will jump to the next files beginning with the same character.
