A May 2017 Microsft security update for Windows 10 conflicted with a major routine in FileBoss resulting in FileBoss not starting on some Windows 10 systems.
Versions V3.101 and later, fix the problem. You can read more about this at the page
Windows Creators Conflict.
FileBoss™ provides all the tools you need to put you in control of your files and folders. Whether you need to rename one file or 1,000's of files, replicate a tree structure without its files, copy a group of files with graceful error recovery or many other file related tasks, you will find that FileBoss performs ordinary, and many not-so-ordinary, tasks in an extra-ordinary fashion with the power, flexibility, creativity and robust features needed by professionals and demanded by today's large and intricate file systems.
No longer do you need to have separate, underpowered programs to rename, to copy, to compare or to find files and folders. FileBoss handles it all with one intuitive interface.
Click on any item to the right to see the details of what and how FileBoss can help you save time and be more productive.
All of FileBoss's many tools use the same user interface eliminating the need to learn one tool to rename, another to compare and yet another just to copy.

FileBoss was designed from the ground up to handle today's large file systems.
Use the same tools to change and copy one file or to change thousands of files in multiple folders, drives and even across networks.
Viewing files in File Sets unleashes the incredible power of FileBoss.

Summary, Detail and Error results can be displayed in a docked window and can be optionally written to disk. Results are recorded even when the windows are not open so that they can be displayed afterward.

If a file can't be copied FileBoss will tell you why and give you the opportunity to correct the problem, skip the file or cancel the whole operation.
Naturally, a global switch can be set so that FileBoss will not stop to ask you any questions. Either way files that can not be copied, moved, renamed or otherwise changed will be logged to the Results Windows.
The Internal Image Viewer combined with FileBoss' other tools makes short work of organizing your new photos.
Discard bad photos, rotate horizontal pictures, quickly give them meaningful names and then drop them into categorized folders.

FileBoss lets you associate multiple programs to files far beyond the simple type association used by Windows and Windows Explorer.
Rather than only be able to associate by type, you can associate by a filename mask and you can tell FileBoss to display the tool on the popup menu, main menu or both.
In addition, you can use external tools to call the Internet to look for information about a file or perhaps just its extension.

Auto Viewers are almost exactly like external tools.
The big difference is that auto-viewers will be invoked every time a file the viewer is associated with has the focus.
For instance if you want to sort a bunch of MP3 files you could associate a program with the MP3 files and then every time you click on an MP3 file it will be played without you having to do anything further.
Since this can get quite annoying individual auto-viewers can be toggled on and off quickly from the main menu.

FileBoss does not install any DLLs or other executable other than FileBoss.exe (and a small uninstall command file). The only other files installed to your hard disk are for help and a text file telling you what was installed.
In addition FileBoss creates one registry entry to store a few settings and creates a several file associations. (A sample log file for an installation can be seen by
