A May 2017 Microsft security update for Windows 10 conflicted with a major routine in FileBoss resulting in FileBoss not starting on some Windows 10 systems.
Versions V3.101 and later, fix the problem. You can read more about this at the page
Windows Creators Conflict.
Please note that this docmentation applies to FileBoss V4 which will be released in the beginning of 2022
iOS/nix filenames can even be edited inline (press F2 when the name is highlighted) just as any other name can be edited.
When FileBoss presents the name for editing it will replace the Mac specific characters with their meta-codes e.g. the backslash will be displayed as <\>. You can replace, enter, delete or move these meta-codes just like any other character. When you are finished editing FileBoss will translate the meta-codes into the appropriate characters.
